September 21st marks the global day of action, heads of state are holding an emergency summit in New York City – chaired by UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon – to discuss a unified government response to climate change.
Our demand is for Action Now, Not Words: take the action necessary to create a world with an economy that works for people and the planet – now. In short, we want a world safe from the ravages of climate change.
At 8.30am March along Mandela Drive in Mpophomeni.
At 10am Gather at Howick Falls to sign the millions-strong call for a 100% clean future and March along Main Street.

- Climate change will affect the poor and the hungry
- We cannot delay any more, change needs to happen now
- The economic costs of inaction will far out weight the costs of action
- We are the first humans to ever breathe air at 400parts per million CO2
- Extreme weather is hurting the poorest and most vulnerable
- We know it is possible to close the emissions gap, we just need to be active
- Climate finance is an investment in the future. It must not be taken hostage by short-term budget considerations.
- Universal access to clean energy can benefit people's health and advance gender equality. Open new markets, create decent jobs, and sustainably design burgeoning urban growth.
