Another great week to report on…
Let’s start by saying congratulations to Colin Burden who played in the NIBA Veteran’s Masters Singles invitational this past weekend at Collegians. He won both of his games on Friday, won one and lost one on Saturday, and Sunday saw him win his first game but unfortunately lost his second. He played some great bowls and did very well to come 4th overall!
Another congratulations goes to our Competition Secretary, Lisa Nagel who has been invited to the Preliminary Masters Singles to be played at Maritzburg West on the 12th & 13th of November. In addition, she’s also been selected to play in the Inter-District Tournaments in March 2023. We’re so proud to have Lisa fly our flag for us!
On Wednesday, 12th of October our Halfway Toyota Drawn Trips competition was played. Well done to the winning team of Bobby Chetty, Darlene Ferreira and Barry Fairbrother (Pictured top Left). Runners up were Ed Speed, Peter Storm and Jo Boonzaaier (Pictured here below).
Saturday the 15th of October brought a change in weather and as a result we decided to turn our Greendale Spar 3 Bowl Trips inside out. What fun to play some indoor carpet bowls and an impromptu game of bowls pong! Well done to Jo Boonzaaier and Steve Smith for winning session prizes, and to Richard Chard for being the ultimate Bowls Pong champion! I suspect it’s a game we’ll feature at the club again…
