Howick High School is honoured to be hosting the Milton Academy Jazz Band from the USA. The academy’s jazz music department
has been acclaimed as amongst the best in America. Over the years they have played twice at The White House for Presidential receptions and for Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Facilitated by the Rotary Club of Hilton & Howick, the band are visiting South Africa on an outreach tour, which they have done every 2nd year since 1991. On these tours, students have delivered over $265,000 worth of donated music instruments and materials to underprivileged South African school music programs.
We are delighted to bring this opportunity to the uMngeni community to enjoy this amazing band perform and bring us 'The Joy of Jazz'. The show takes place on Tuesday, 14 March 2023 at 18:00 in the Howick High School hall.
